It’s time to set the record straight…

It has come to our attention that there is an underlying myth that alcohol free sanitiser is inferior in the fight against Covid-19. Why an industrial product like Ethanol or Isopropyl would be better than our delicately manufactured Benzalkonium chloride is beyond us. So let’s dive in –

Alcohol sanitiser will kill Covid-19 but there is a fundamental problem. It is one shot, one kill, most bugs are gone but you are now unprotected. You pick your phone up text someone and who knows what is now on your hands. You do the right thing and sanitise. Oops another text! Pick your phone up and sanitise. Walk into the shops touching door handles picking up items you sanitise! Go to you work place use an elevator, sanitise again! It’s quite clear to see the flaw in the mechanism of alcohol based sanitisers. There is no further protection and no long term application, your hands become cracked and sore. So what do we do!

Efficacy

Alcohol free products kill more resilient germs including Norovirus & C-Diff, It is well known that alcohol based sanitisers struggle to Norovirus nor does it kill C-Diff. Some sanitisers may hold a small residual resistance, however it is minimal. Nilaqua is so effective at killing C-Diff this can be completed in just 30 seconds! Nilaqua kills 99.999% and in most cases 99.9999% of germs in 30 seconds, whereas alcohol gels typically kill 99.9% or 99.99% of germs. This may not seem like a lot however for every 9% this equates to 100x or in some cases 1000x more effective.

Test Data

Alcohol and Alcohol free sanitisers are tested to BS EN 14476 both in the exact same conditions in the exact same time frame. The usual test parameters are 2 minutes, we’ve went one step further to have our sanitiser tested in 1 minute with fantastic results!

Alcohol products method of use is to evaporate, which strips natural oils and dries the skin. This can actually cause micro fissure and cracks that can harbour germs.
