Prestigious two-day dementia event coming to Manchester

This month leading figures from dementia care, including experts by experience, will gather in Manchester for the largest annual multi-disciplinary dementia-focused event and exhibition in the UK.

Organised by Dementia Community, the 19th UK Dementia Congress will take place on Monday 17th to Tuesday 18th November 2025 at the Bridgewater Hall. UK Dementia Congress brings together experts with lived experience, professionals and practitioners across health, social care, housing, the arts and culture. Keynote speakers include Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, and Professor John Keady, University of Manchester.
This is the first time Manchester has hosted UK Dementia Congress, and with the city’s rich tapestry of dementia-related initiatives it promises to be the perfect venue to bring this vibrant event to the most diverse and engaged audience yet.
Topics on the programme include: Technology – Advanced dementia – Acute hospital care – Working with minority ethnic communities – Diagnosis – Care homes – Young onset dementia – Innovation – Staff development – Community support – Lived experience and co-production – Responding to stress and distress – Supporting carers and families.

UK Dementia Congress will also have:
- A dementia showcase from Greater Manchester organisations.
- A live demonstration from Manchester Camerata.
- An update on Dementia Community’s Dementia in Prisons Special Interest Group.
- Interactive sessions and workshops, films and discussions.
- Mini-presentations that will replace traditional poster displays.
